At the “Papanikolaou” Hospital in Thessaloniki, the first specialized unit of its kind is already under construction, comprising hematology laboratories, a dedicated 11-bed clinical unit, and high-security infrastructure. In an interview with the newspaper “Parapolitika”, the scientific lead hematologist and Deputy President of the Board of Directors of the HSGTRM, Ms. Evangelia Yannaki (photo), discusses this development.
According to her interview with “Parapolitika”, Ms. Evangelia Yannaki emphasizes that “advanced gene and cell therapies have redefined the traditional pharmaceutical paradigm.” Gene and cell therapies will now be available in Greece, at the new hospital building of the “Papanikolaou” Hospital in Thessaloniki, where she will serve as the scientific director of the newly established gene and cell therapy unit.
